This yin pathway runs downwards from the chest to the hand. It begins in the heart from where it branches in three directions. One branch descends into the small intestine. The second ascends across the pharynx to the eyes and the third proceeds across the lungs towards the armpit and from there to the centre of the hand and down to the tip of the little finger, where it terminates.
