This is a yin pathway descending from the chest to the hand. It begins in the centre of the chest, passes through the pericardium, drops downwards across the diaphragm and inter-connects with the triple emitters. Its superficial branch proceeds from the centre of the chest, through the nipple to the armpit, where it descends along the medial side of the hand, across the palm to the tip of the middle finger. It has a small branch from the mid-palm, which ends at the tip of the ring finger.
